Gimme your old Mac! •Print• •E-mail•

Since 2006 I am working on 'iPaint myMac', a series of painted old Apple Macintosh computers. Some models are already completed and about 50 more are sitting at my place waiting to be painted or transformed into some sort of artwork or installation.

Construction MacOne by one they are being taken to my studio and return as pieces of art. I plan to exhibit the computers sometime in the next 2 years, there are some big plans in the pipelines -- keep an eye on the iPaint myMac section for updates.

Even though I already have a fairly impressive range of vintage Macs (including some very neat highlights like the rare eMate) I am still looking for some models to complete my collection.
If you come across dead or out-sourced and unused Apple devices you are more than welcome to re-direct them into my direction.

These are a few models I am still particularly looking for:

  • iMac (the one with the half-sphered foot)
  • eMac
  • Cube (yes, iKnow, they are hard to come by, but hey, there might be the odd chance ... and if it's just an empty case ...)
  • Macintosh Portable (they claim this was the first portable Mac, but it was so fckn heavy, no way anyone took anywhere)
  • Classic, SE & Plus (I already have a few dozen of them, but I need more ...)
  • any type of Apple //, the legendary Lisa ... ok, I'm dreaming now
  • sure I'd also grab any newer Apple laptop or computer if you have one that you regard as disposable
  • anything odd with an Apple logo on it (instruction VHS tapes, old PR material, shop displays, ... you name it)

… and basically anything you think might be interesting .... I am based in Melbourne. Australia, obviously the closer you are the better ;-)

Donations will be rewarded with a piece of artwork and be listed in the exhibition credits.

For all you die-hard fans who can't wait for the content to appear hear I have some shirts for you on redbubble.com to show your enthusiasm about your favourite computer.
Available as long and short sleeve shirts in different colours and styles:
