 It's no news that I have a vivid interest in political action and human rights issues and things like that. When I was asked by the New Internationalist if I wanted to contribute to their annual Year Planner I didn't have to think a split second to make a decision. So here it is now, the new planner for 2009 featuring one of my works on the first pages of the new year.

 They have been around at least since the 60's -- actually I wouldn't be surprised if Jesus wore some too. Badges have been political, witty, a statement, plain funny ... they are like T-Shirts just more exchangeable. Stay Human Gallery has invited a bunch of artists to go wild on those little things and exhibit them together with some artworks ... why not?!

 Come down to the Dazzeland Studios in Northcote for a creative day of Red, Gold and Green. This summer da Reggae vibe is finally catching on in Australia and Sketch City is celebrating it with a Reggae edition of this fun live painting and sketching event.
I'll be painting on the day with a set of fresh new stencils strictly conscious stylee .... and I'll also bring a bag of vinyls down to drop some riddims between the live acts.Sunday 7 December 4-10pm

 I was invited by Iranian street art pioneer A1one to participate in a group show he is organsing in Tehran in January 09. Spray1387 will run from 16-21 January 09 in two galleries and in the streets of Tehran. The event will also feature a film night and a photography day -- more information visit the exhibition website.
That's a quite unusual place to exhibit street art you might think, but you'd be surprised to see the exciting street art that is coming from that region these days! |

 These days the market is getting flooded with new publications on street art from all around the world, featuring all genres and covering all sorts of aspects of street art. It has become hard to keep track!
.Last week I read a post somewhere about the new book 'Street Art and the War on Terror -- How the World's best Graffiti Artist say NO to the Iraq War' ... wow, that's a book I had to check out. Which I did this week and while flicking through it at my local book store, sure enough I discover a photo of my RamBush stencil in it. Nice! There is a book I am really interested in and I am in it. That's wicked! |
